Lemonade For Your Face!

As per my favorite little 7 year old, Miss Jaelyn, we made some tasty homemade lemonade. It’s fairly straightforward, but a million times better than any store-bought crap…sorry Paul Newman…but it’s true.

Zest of 2 lemons (peeled with a vegetable peeler to create large strips…any avoid the pith, which is the bitter white stuff)
1 1/2 cups beet sugar
2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (for me, it took about 16 lemons)
1/2 tsp fine grain sea salt
Lots of ice
1 lemon, thinly sliced for garnish

First, we’re going to make a lemon simple syrup. Bring sugar, water and lemon zest to a boil in a small saucepan. Once boiling and all of the sugar is dissolved, remove from the heat and set aside to cool.

Strain the syrup into a large pitcher filled with ice. You may need two pitchers depending on how big they are. It will need to hold about 6 cups of liquid along with however much ice you put in there. Add in the lemon juice, 2 cups of water and sea salt. Stir to combine. Add in some lemon slices and don’t forget to drink it through a straw if you wanna avoid all of the cavities that I’ve accumulated.
